Update: “Local Library Support Fund”

Sadly we must wait one more year.  I have been informed by Treasury that the checkoff box which permits individuals to make voluntary contributions to public libraries on their tax forms will not be on the tax form for 2014 taxes. It will be on the tax form for 2015 taxes which will be available in January of 2016.   So, we will have to wait until about this time next year to provide you with further information.

NJ Pub Libs listserv

Since we have had more new subscribers to NJ Pub Libs than usual recently, a little background information may be useful.  Subscription to the listserv is restricted to public library directors, heads of consortia and certain NJSL staff members.  The reason for restricting the list to directors is because we sometimes need to reach directors and directors only for preliminary opinions regarding proposed changes to regulation, certain surveys and for Per Capita State Aid. We include heads of consortia and NJSL staff that need to be kept apprised. NJ Pub Libs messages contain information regarding the following subject areas:

·         Library law and general NJ law affecting libraries

·         NJSL surveys and some national surveys

·         Grants available through NJSL

·         NJSL training opportunities for library directors and trustees

Please note that the listserv is not a discussion list but informational only.  If you have questions or would like to discuss the things covered in a certain message please reply to the message or as instructed in the message and we will get back to you.
