FYI,

Here is an event that might be of interest to anyone who is a fan of the late Walter Dean Myers. I’m going so maybe I’ll see some of you there!

Symphony Space (2537 Broadway, NYC)  is presenting “A Celebration of Walter Dean Myers” on Sunday, March 8, 2015 at 5 PM. Tickets are free but an RSVP is required here.

          Here’s a description of the event:

 

Walter Dean Myers' (1937 - 2014) fellow children's book authors, including Jacqueline Woodson (Brown Girl Dreaming, winner of the 2014 National Book Award for Young People's Literature), Sharon Creech (Walk Two Moons), and Avi (Crispin, Poppy) talk about their beloved friend and mentor and read selections from his work. Hosted by Christopher Myers.
