2015 Youth Services Forum: Call for Presenters

My name is Emily Moore, and I'm the Head of Youth Services at the Voorhees Branch of the Camden County Library System. I'm the Project Manager of this year’s upcoming Youth Services Forum.
The Youth Services Forum is a day of hot topics and issues in library services to children and young adults, sponsored by the New Jersey Library Association and
the State Library of New Jersey. This year's Forum will be held on Thursday, October 8 at the Monroe Township Public Library I've been working with Sharon Rawlins and an awesome Planning Committee to begin to put together a wonderful schedule of
presentations. It's time for us to flesh out our ideas and bring them to life with presenters - you!

We are currently looking for anyone who would be interested in presenting on the following topics:
Focus on Teen/Tween

Teen volunteers beyond summer reading. Do you have a great structure for your teen volunteers throughout the school year? How do you keep organized and keep them busy?

After Hours/Lock in programming. Do you host programs for teens when the library is closed?
Focus on Elementary
-
Attracting elementary-aged kids to after school programming
-
Lego Robotics
Focus on Young Children

iPads in storytimes
-
STEAM storytimes/crafts for preschoolers
Multiple ages
-
ESL for kids / whole family
-
Programs for kids with special needs- beyond sensory story times.

Creative budgeting. Do you get sponsors for your programming? Is your library great at fundraising?

Intellectual freedom for kids
It may seem daunting to present to a room full of peers, but the Youth Services Forum is a great place to start! It's a fulfilling experience that not only connects
you to other youth services staff in the state but strengthens your resume. It's also just a perfect chance to show off the wonderful work you've been doing!
