From Books of Wonder’s newsletter:
On Thursday June 4th, National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature Jason Reynolds and his fellow children’s authors Kwame Alexander and Jacqueline Woodson have organized #Kidlit Rally for Black Lives. Starting at 7pm on The Brown Bookshelf’s Facebook Live, more than 25 authors, artists, and publishers with gather in support of Black lives. The hope is to provide a space to speak to children about this movement, answer their questions, and offer ideas about how to go forward. Following the rally, there will be an event at 7:45pm geared towards parents, teachers, and librarians.
