Thanks - this was very helpful and lessened, somewhat, the nervous feeling in my stomach!

Yep, exactly. They give tips throughout to help facilitate. They make it super easy.

The slides they provide can't be edited. I make a copy of the slides so that I can have an editable version. From there, I remove notes that I don't need/want and add those that might be helpful reminders as I'm speaking.

When presenting GWG virtually, the main problem I ran into was that many presentations have filler time for people to practice. It's difficult to gauge who is actually practicing and who is just waiting for me to carry on. I removed some of the practice exercises and put in questions to get engagement instead. I'm still feeling my way through that. The presentations are 30-45 minutes compared to 60 in-person because you aren't stopping to assist anyone one-on-one.

I was the person who asked the question - I read the GWG material and am planning to do two workshops (one for job seekers and one for businesses).  I was going to do them on Zoom.  I looked at one for job seekers and it looks like the PPT for the presentation pretty much gives you a template/talking points to follow.

Am I right?

Is this person curious about presentation skills in general or does s/he want specifics for GWG presentations? It's not really any different than presenting any other talk or program. The only additional thing I do for a GWG talk is practice the exercises in advance to avoid snags day of.

Hello all,

I received a question from someone asking for advice about hosting Grow with Google events.  Can anyone share their experiences and give an overview of how it all works on the day of?

Any suggestions or insight would be appreciated.

Thanks advance for your help!

Best,

Andrea
