Hi, Public Library Staff,

Now that it’s really close to summer reading program time, I wanted to remind you of some of the helpful resources you can find on the Collaborative Summer Library Program (CSLP) website.

The Social Media ad-hoc committee created a Toolkit for Social Media around 2020’s Summer Library Program – “Imagine Your Story!”  Please feel free to schedule social media posts on your library’s social networks using the samples provided. Graphics are available in your digital manual under file folder 09 as “Social Media Files.”  Please adhere to the timeline as listed by posting within the month noted, but not posting before a specified date #ImagineYourStory and #LibrariesImagine are the official hashtags for 2020.

The social media toolkit includes posts and graphics for Carmen Agra Deedy, the 2020 National Summer Reading Champion. She has agreed to offer live stories on Facebook.

Be sure to share out the information on her live stories, “Fridays at Noon (ET) in June.” Here’s a YouTube video announcing the stories: https://youtu.be/f2vSVoIk92Y

#ImagineYourStory Reminder: her PSA is also up at www.cslpreads.org!

Some other state libraries have also shared resources for other states to use. My colleague from the Michigan State Library created a simple reading log for public libraries unable to do their own. Libraries can edit the pdf’s to include a reading suggestion list or their events/activities. Access them here: https://bit.ly/LMlogs2020.

The packet of incentives that each NJ public library will receive only includes the banner, children’s poster and bookmarks for children, teen and adult. The other posters were withdrawn from the CSLP store.

But, Michigan State Library had their graphic artist remove the objectionable images from the posters that are no longer available through CSLP. They have generously shared that with other CSLP State Representatives for us to share with our public libraries.

Here is the link in case you want to print out your own copies of the posters http://bit.ly/LM2020CSLP.

If you have any questions, just let me know.

~Sharon
