Dear Colleagues,
I am excited to arrive in New Jersey as the second round of the Library Construction Bond Act is being organized. The first round of any new project can be challenging, and the LCBA initiative has certainly been complicated and we've learned a lot. I am proud of the hard work the State Library team and our partnering agencies have contributed to lead this effort. While we celebrate the fact that libraries will soon break ground on 38 highly-ranked projects in communities across the state, we know the work on our end is not over.
NJSL is focused on managing the grant program responsibly, transparently and accurately, so that we set a high standard for implementation moving forward. As we get geared up for the next LCBA round, I want to hear from the library community about what worked well and where there's room for improvement in our processes. At this early stage of my tenure, I don't have a lot of answers, but am keenly interested in hearing from all of you.
The LCBA initiative is a multi-agency collaboration and the NJ library community is a key partner. Please join us for a lively conversation.
