The school year ended in June, but at The WNET Group, our mission to educate, inform and inspire never stops—even during the summer.
Last week, we launched the second season of our series Camp TV, created for kids ages 5-10. Camp TV brings the magic, learning, and fun of the day camp experience to screens everywhere. On television, it can be seen weekdays at noon on THIRTEEN, 10am on WLIW21, and 11am on NJ PBS. The program is also available to stream at CampTV.org.

The summer adventure series debuted in summer 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, which shut down summer camps across the country. The series was so popular, we brought it back this year. Providing fun activities and learning adventures for kids, Camp TV is hosted by a head counselor played by Broadway performer Zachary Noah Piser (Dear Evan Hansen, Wicked), who guides campers as they learn through play. Head counselor Zach kicks off each episode with a welcome song and announces the day's theme, which in Season 2 will include Summer Celebration Day, Snow Day, Patterns Day, Celebrate Your Name Day, Favorite Animal Day and more. Zach guides campers through activities such as exploring nature, math, science, the arts, movement, storytelling, and writing. Activity guides are posted on the website so families can prepare ahead of each episode.
Camp TV was created to fill a very specific gap. Studies have shown that there is a significant learning slide during the summer, and there are many kids who don't go to day camp. We responded to this gap by forging significant partnerships with institutions in New York City and across the country, from Carnegie Hall and The New Victory Theater to Liberty Science Center, the zoos, museums, and libraries—to provide broadcast content that is free to all and reaches 99% of the public.
Camp TV and our other popular instructional learning series Let's Learn NYC! are core to the mission of The WNET Group. As a public media provider, we know that our most important purpose is to reach children and their families with dynamic educational content. We couldn't do it without your support. Thank you.
