FYI,
Just sharing this with you….
Dear Librarians and Educators:
ATC Studios is pleased to announce the continuation of our Young Playwrights Project, 2022! Submissions are invited from students Middle School through High School Teens (ages 10-19), inspired by the themes, “On My Own,” and “Putting It Together."
We’ve attached a flyer you can use to spread the news. Students may also submit as individuals, not necessarily associated with your school or library.
NOTE: Our youngest winner was 10 years old--just in middle school. So age/grade level is not a factor!
Past winners have gone on to have productions of their works mounted in NYC and some are pursuing careers in writing.
ATC is now accepting SHORT (10 minutes or under), one-act scripts that reflect the themes “On My Own,” and “Putting it Together.” The student’s play script should echo their own, original, creative thoughts, on their choice of the two themes, or a combination of both.
[Plagiarism will result in the student being disqualified from our project, and the school/teacher will be notified.]
Submissions may be sent directly to ATC. Please email your scripts formatted as .doc or .docx, to ...@gmail.com" style="color: #2199e8; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-weight: normal; line-height: 1.3; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-align: left; text-decoration: none;" target="_blank">atcs...@gmail.com .
PLEASE NOTE: As we must remove all identifying information before evaluation, we request that students NOT submit as a pdf.
Deadline for Submission is
March 18th 2022
Scripts will be read and evaluated by professionals and teachers.
From all submissions, 8-12 will be selected for public performance, and will be cast and produced through ATC.
The audience and a panel of “judges” composed of professional theater personnel, will select three to be featured on the internet:
The chosen pieces could be seen
around the world!
