I’m a member of CLEL- Colorado Libraries for Early Literacy -  and they give out CLEL Bell Picture Book Awards every year. Here is their list of winners.

 

The CLEL Bell Picture Book Awards recognize five high-quality picture books that provide excellent support of early literacy development in young children. The five winning titles support and model each of the five early literacy practices: Read, Write, Sing, Talk, and Play. The CLEL Bells Selection Committee is proud to announce the 2022 CLEL Bell Award Winners!

WRITE:

Line and Scribble by Debora Vogrig, illustrated by Pia Valentinis, translated by Debbie Bibo (Chronicle Books)

Bear Wants to Sing by Cary Fagan, illustrated by Dena Seiferling (Tundra Books)

PLAY:

Off-Limits by Helena Yoon (Candlewick)

Watch CLEL Bells chair, Mollie Landcaster, and co-chair, Julie Crabb booktalk each of the winning titles in the announcement video and download the early literacy activity pages at clel.org. These activity sheets were crafted by the CLEL Bells Selection Committee to help extend learning and play based on the themes of the book.
