I am conducting my PhD dissertation research (SUNY IRB STUDY00006932) to explore how youth-serving librarians understand "the library" and "the homeless" as symbolic objects (concepts that are part of our shared cultural imagination).

This research will involve participation in one in-depth interview, including questions related to two sets of photographs. Interviews will be conducted online and are expected to last no more than 90 minutes. Dates and times will be arranged at the participants' convenience. Participants who complete the interview will be compensated for their time with a $50 e-gift card.

Potential participants should be (or have been) youth services librarians (with an MLS) in any title working with children, teens, and families, in U.S. public libraries for a minimum of three years. No experience working with families or individuals in homeless situations is required for participation in this study.
