Each year, the event, which is designed for adults, features luminaries from the children’s literature community. Authors, illustrators, editors, reviewers, and scholars will take part in three panel discussions at this year’s program. Sonia Manzano, who played Maria on the groundbreaking educational children's program Sesame Street for 44 years, will present the keynote.
We are thrilled to be partnering once again this year with KidLit TV for this not to be missed program. Other panelists and moderators will include two-time Caldecott winner, Sophie Blackall, National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature, Meg Medina; award winning author of Wonder and White Bird, RJ Palacio and nonfiction authors: Chelsea Clinton, Kekla Magoon, Traci Sorell and Kelly Starling Lyons. Should you wish to follow the buzz on Twitter use #bookfest23 and tag us @BankStreetLib. Use this link to see the entire program and to register. There is a cost of $35 to attend

Public Library Staff are Invited to Enter the 2025 CSLP Color Our World Theme Program Contest
Help CSLP to Color Our World : Colorea Nuestro Mundo in 2025 by submitting your brilliant, fun, and educational programs for next year's manual!
CSLP is running a contest for public library staff to come up with the most creatively unique program ideas around the 2025 theme, Color Our World. The contest will run from now until September 30th, 2023. We want your ideas that are filled with all the colors! Our very own Managing Editor, Alyssa Graybeal, will choose one program from each category (children, teens, and adults), and one contributor of early literacy books and songs that best captures the theme. Program ideas submitted with photos (that the submitter owns the copyright to or are proven copyright free) have the highest chances of winning).
The winner in each category will get a coupon for $50 worth of merchandise in the CSLP store. You can purchase some great Adventure Begins at Your Library merchandise for 2024!
Use this submission form to submit your program ideas: https://www.cslpreads.org/submit-a-programming-idea/. There is no limit on the number of ideas a library can submit, but we're looking for high-quality, creative, colorful program concepts over quantity.
