You are invited to attend the 2024 Zena Sutherland Lecture, presented by Meg Medina, on Friday, May 3, at 7:30 p.m. at the Harold Washington Library Center Cindy Pritzker Auditorium or via Zoom. 

Meg Medina is the current National Ambassador for Young People's Literature and an award-winning author of numerous books including Newbery Medal winner Merci 
Suárez Changes Gears, Evelyn del Rey is Moving Away, and Yaqui Delgado Wants to Kick Your Ass (2014 Pura Belpré Author Honor). The lecture will be followed by a Q & A and a small reception with the author.

Please note there will be no book sales or book signing.

The Sutherland Lecture honors the late Zena Sutherland, Professor Emeritus and retired editor of the "Bulletin of the Center for Children's Books" and is intended for teachers, educators, librarians, and other interested adults. The  event is co-sponsored by Chicago Public Library, the Zena Sutherland Lecture Committee, and the University of Chicago Laboratory Schools.
