The governor has signed into law A2784 which provides revisions to NJSA 40A:9.12. This statute concerns citizen service on municipal authorities, boards, and commissions of municipalities including the conditions under which a trustee may be removed by the mayor from the board, and who may administer the oath of office to newly appointed and reappointed trustees. The prior law only allowed removal after a trustee had missed 4 consecutive regular meetings (not due to legitimate illness). This revision will allow municipa ...Continue Reading

NJ-PUB-LIBS Message - Please complete survey regarding 2010 Teen Summer Reading Poster

October 9th 2009

Dear Library Director: I\x92m Sharon Rawlins, Youth Services Consultant at the NJ State Library and the project manager for the Statewide Summer Reading Program. I\x92m surveying all the public libraries in NJ using Survey Monkey to see if your library wants the 2010 Teen Summer Reading Poster. Some of the teen librarians do not like the illustration and don\x92t want to use it. Since the summer reading committee\x92s budget was cut, if your library doesn\x92t want it, and won\x92t use it, not ordering it will save ...Continue Reading

The amount shown assumes that the library\x92s budget is based on a calendar year and that the municipality is not using the 15% rule (below). For joint libraries, add the two municipalities together and multiply the total by .000333333. The letter you may need for the auditor will be posted to the NJSL PCS ...Continue Reading

Rob was responsible for combining 14 hub libraries into JerseyConnect, our fully redundant and scalable statewide library automation system. He put together a small but mighty IT team to serve both NJ ...Continue Reading
