The ALA Washington office has contacted me and said there is a chance that funding for library construction will be part of the Obama trillion dollar stimulus package. Projects will have to be \x93shovel ready.\x94 If you are working on library construction in any way, I urge you to review the construction grant as posted on our State Library web site, since the application will be the same or very close to it. The NJ Public Library Survey for 2008 should be available online no later than the middle of February. Bibliostat is making revisions and we will let you know as soon as the survey is available. The survey is essentially the same as the survey for 2007 (attached for your information) except that the following questions have been added: Lines 7.56 to 7.60 regarding use of the library facilities for non-library meetings and events are now optional. Registration is now open for the New Jersey State Library\x92s New Directors\x92 Orientation. The workshop will be held on February 11th & 18th, 2009 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm each day.
