Dear Directors, Youth and Reference Services Staff:

For the past five years the NJ State Library has paid for a license with Evanced Solutions to provide access to their Summer Reader software at no additional cost to any public library interested in using it for summer reading online registration.

The State Library has ended its contract with Evanced Solutions effective immediately.  As with any decision to end a service this was not an easy decision to make. However, given the relatively small number of libraries taking advantage of this resource, providing the expenditure for statewide access can no longer be a priority.

The State Library regrets the loss of this service to public libraries that have successfully used and liked Evanced Solutions Summer Reader.  Evanced Solutions will be offering discounts on Wandoo Reader, their new Summer Reader software, for individual libraries until December 31, but their prices, based on population, will increase in 2015. Evanced Solutions is also willing to negotiate with individual public libraries who wish to use both Evanced Solutions Summer Reader and Wandoo Reader concurrently but the cost will be significantly more than if a library only licenses Wandoo Reader.
