Coordinating and running of the Teen Library Connection, a community service volunteer program for EB teens, entering 9^th, 10^th, 11^th, and 12^th grades, which allows them to support programming at the library for the summer of 2017. Collaborating with the Teen Librarian and the Youth Services to supervise teen volunteers and teen assistants in the creation and implementation of unique children and teen programs and a large, end of summer celebration. Examples of previous years' programs include a life-sized board game, indoor mini-golf, shooting a music video, a Mad Scientist lab, a community play date and a super hero training academy.

required skills, knowledge, and ability:

The TLC Coordinator must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with library staff and teen TLC assistants, work independently supervising teens to implement creative programming for youth, use knowledge of current trends in youth programming to create new program ideas for youth and teens, demonstrate an interest in working with youth, and communicate ideas effectively both orally and in writing.

minimum training and experience:

The TLC Coordinator must be a current college student or recent graduate. Library school students who have completed at least six credit hours in an ALA-accredited Masters in Library Science program are preferred.

salary:

$21.09/hour
