Hi, Everyone,

I’m just sending some updates regarding the Collaborative Summer Library Program (CSLP).

Here’s the link to December’s CSLP newsletter

2018 Summer Reading Manuals

All public libraries should have received a packet through the statewide delivery system that was addressed to “Summer Reading Coordinators” in late October or early November that contained a cover letter explaining that they would only get the 2018 summer reading manual online for next year. The packet also contained printed instructions for accessing the online manual, a printed Upstart incentives catalog, and a flyer from Scholastic with discounted book titles for 2018’s summer reading program. Please check that you received it and if you didn’t, let me know. CSLP has created a helpful YouTube video https://youtu.be/9y_o1DAvCEk  on accessing the online manual, which has improved its searchability for the 2018 manual.

Theme ideas for 2021 and 2022 Summer Reading Programs - Due Jan. 12, 2018

It's that time of year when we look for the best of the best general themes for future CSLP Programs!
This year we are asking for suggestions from public library staff for not only the 2021 program year, but also the 2022 program year. Selecting the themes and contracting with illustrators further out into the future allows the illustrator more time to fit us into their schedule, and increases our ability to work with the artists that our members suggest. It also aligns theme suggestions with the strengths of the illustrators and provides more flexibility with integrating their art into the manual production process. This ultimately provides us with the opportunity to provide more products with our artwork, and getting all of our summer reading promotional materials into the hands of our members in a more reasonable timeframe. A reminder that the 2019 theme is space (illustrator is Leeza Hernandez), the 2020 theme is fairytales/mythology/fantasy (illustrator is LeUyen Pham). The illustrator for 2021 is Salina Yoon. Please email Sharon Rawlins, sraw...@njstatelib.org with your theme ideas by January 12, 2018

Thanks!

Happy holidays.

Best regards,
