Subject: Covid testing on materials and libraries create PPE webinar 8-12-2020
Date: July 21st 2020

FYI,

Two items of interest:

The REALM Project has published the results of the second round of Battelle's laboratory testing for COVID-19 on five commonly handled materials: braille paper pages, glossy paper pages, magazine pages, children’s board books, and archival folders. Visit the “Happening Now” project update page to read the results and their comparison to Test 1 results. For more on the scope, timeline, and committees involved with #REALMproject, visit oc.lc/realm-project.

Test 2 studied materials up to 4 days.  The magazines never cleared that stage (and probably comics too) and still showed trace Covid at day 4.  They are recommending further testing.

This is the link for additional tests, including regular paper – like hard cover books, PB books, etc.

Test 3 is underway, this includes plastics and DVDs
