P-T Library Assistant, Franklin Township Public Library, Youth Center Library

This is a new position in a brand new township youth center currently under construction.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, performing direct patron service at the circulation desk, and a variety of para-professional circulation duties that involve specialized knowledge and skills and other library related tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Minimum qualifications: Ability to work the following schedule: Mondays and Wednesdays 1 p. to 8 p., the second and fourth Tuesday 9:30 a. to 5 p., and the first and third Saturday 9:30 a. to 2 p. for an average weekly total of 20 hours; regular attendance and punctuality; reliable transportation and a friendly demeanor.  Library experience preferred, as is familiarity with SirsiDynix.

Physical demands: Ability to handle active, ambulatory work that may involve repetitive bending, reaching, walking, carrying piles of books and pushing loaded book cards.  Dexterity to handle books, keyboards and other small objects.

$16/hour
