Hello, Colleagues,

Are you interested in being trained to provide STEM/STEAM workshops for children ages 3 – 10 who you serve in your library? The State Leadership Team for Leap into Science is doing a virtual training on the Leap into Science curriculum “Light and Shadow” on December 15, 2022 from 2:00-4:00 pm. Developed by the Franklin Institute, Leap into Science integrates open-ended science activities with children’s books, designed for children ages 3-10 and their families.

Three different workshop models are covered in one training: preschool (ages 3-5), elementary (ages 6-10) and one for families. First time participants will receive an Amazon gift card to be used to purchase resources for the kits in support of the Leap program. Anyone who already took the training but wants a refresher is welcome to attend as well. All participants are encouraged to offer at least one workshop in your organization by the end of March 2023 and fill out a short report afterward.

If interested, please use this link to register for the virtual training: https://tinyurl.com/2p8wytay

Leap into Science is a nationwide program developed by The Franklin Institute Science Museum and the National Girls Collaborative Project funded by the National Science Foundation. The program empowers educators to offer workshops in community settings like libraries, museums, and out-of-school time programs to engage under-served audiences in accessible and familiar settings.
