The Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Commission (ALBC) invited governors from all fifty states to appoint a State Liaison to the ALBC Governors' Council. State Liaisons help publicize national bicentennial programs and events in their state, serve as a contact point between the federal ALBC and their state, and coordinate their own state's bicentennial programs and events. From: Kathleen Peiffer The State Library was recently informed that Newsbank sales representatives have been contacting New Jersey libraries to tell them that they have concluded an exclusive agreement with the Star-Ledger, and the Star-Ledger will be leaving the Infotrac Database and going with NewsBank sometime around August. Hi all, Some of you (or your auditor or municipality) are sending the annual certified "Report of Audit" done by your auditor to the NJSL. For those of you that submit the NJ Public Library Survey, there is no need to do this. Please let your auditor know that if the library is completing the annual NJ Public Library Survey, the law (N.J.S.A. 40A:5-4. The State Library has received a request for used books and computers to help start a library in the state of Lagos in Nigeria.
