Subject: Dear Neighbor, Please Vote -- Postcard Party at Maplewood Library
Hi community partners –
The Maplewood Library is having a postcard-writing party on Wednesday September 26th @ 4pm for kids, teens, and families to encourage voter participation in the November elections. The initiative –
Dear Neighbor, Please Vote – was created by Maplewoodians Julie Burstein & Holly McGhee and features artwork by noted children’s illustrators like Peter Reynolds. The event is designed to give kids and teens an active role in encouraging voter participation
in the November elections. Refreshments will be provided.
The postcards are intended for kids and teens to share with their neighbors – in hopes that this personal, friendly, and nonpartisan outreach will spur voter engagement.
Dear Neighbor, Please Vote provides those who are too young to vote with an opportunity to participate in the democratic process and give them a voice. For more info, or to download the artwork, go to
www.RaisingOurVoices.today
Julie Burstein is a Peabody Award-winning radio producer, TED speaker, author of Spark: How Creativity Works, and creator of public radio's Studio 360.
Holly McGhee is a noted literary agent and critically-acclaimed writer. Her most recent work is Come with Me, a New York Times bestseller & E. B. White Readaloud Finalist.
Attached is a flyer.
Please feel free to forward this email to anyone who might be interested.
With thanks,
Jane
