Just off the top of my head: John Green’s Looking for Alaska and An Abundance of Katherines aren’t what I’d call “straight romances” but they have romance in them, written from male’s point of view (both for older teens). Not sure I’d call 13 Reasons Why by Jay Asher a romance but it is from the boy’s point of view but he does have a crush & doesn’t get the girl in the end (not to give anything away here!) (also for older teens). It’s been a long time since I read it but I think Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia ...Continue Reading

Hi Karen We had Ramya Ramnarayan: Traditions of India from Young Audiences of NJ and they were wonderful though not inexpensive -- $1,020 (3 dancers) - we had grant funding. I don't know if you'd be able to negotiate the fee with YANJ but it is worth the try. Sometimes I go to our friends of the library when I need extra funding for a program. Young Audiences has another Middle East dance group but they too are rather expensive. Good luck! Diane Diane Cann Head of Yout ...Continue Reading
