Hello, and happy summer!A patron/friend is currently at a women's shelter with her young daughter.\xA0 There are many other families there as well, but very little for the kids to do.\xA0 She noticed that many of them are quite angry and there are few, if any, books that may be helpful to them. Can you recommend some titles that this mom can read to the other kids that are positive, happy, self-affirming, hopeful, etc...?\xA0 Jamie Lee Curtis', I'm Gonna Like Me, and Karen Beaumont's, I Like Myself, come to mind, but ...Continue Reading

Theodore Boone: Kid lawyer

July 2nd 2010

Hi All,       I haven’t read Theodore Boone: Kid Lawyer by John Grisham yet, but I hear it is getting quite a lot of attention and our incoming copies are already on hold. I wondered if anyone was doing a mock trial to celebrate the book? I did get a Penguin kit which is okay, but  I would appreciate all suggestions from fellow librarians. Thanks and have a great weekend. Ellie Strbo Middletown Public Library 55 New Monmouth Road Middletown, N.J. 07748 732-671-3700, ext 358 est...@mtp ...Continue Reading
