Dear Library Colleagues: As you know, the state budget was signed yesterday by Governor Christie. We still have not seen the final budget in writing and probably will not see it until the end of the week. Please know that interlibrary loan, delivery and databases will not be shut off today. The turn off date has not been set yet. I expect all libraries to continue state services until notified that they will be shut off. Faced with the dramatic funding losses proposed and being concerned about retaining core services for the field, the State Librarian has announced that effective May 1 she is continuing core services through one region. This is being done so that the remaining FY2010 money and regional carry forward left after meeting regional contractual obligations can be used by one region to provide core services for as long as possible.
