JerseyCat problem

May 24th 2017

JerseyCat is currently undergoing connectivity problems. Please hold off on requests until this is resolved. If you have made requests this morning that have already come back as unfilled, please delete them and  issue new requests once the system is back up and running. If you have requests in Awaiting Approval status, leave them there as well until resolution. Thanks.    Casey Confoy JerseyCat – NJSL cconfoy@PROTECTED 609-278-2640  x114 ---------------------------------------------------- ...Continue Reading

Library visits

March 22nd 2017

The JerseyCat staff at the State Library is committed to ensuring that our member libraries are getting most out of the JerseyCat interlibrary loan system. To that end, I will be visiting NJ libraries this spring to observe how they are using the system, seeing what works (or what doesn't work) on a day-to-day basis. I will also be soliciting comments about any improvements or changes that users think should be made to the system. I can also do training sessions for any libraries who request.    If you w ...Continue Reading

Items stuck in return file - update

September 27th 2016

Auto-Graphics identified a problem/flaw with ISO messaging that is preventing returned out of state loans from being deleted. So far they have not been able to fix this problem. So, as a workaround, they went in and deleted any items that were in the return file prior to January of this year. If they are not able to fix the ISO problem so that returns are deleted one by one (as they should be) they will instead run the clean up every quarter. So, all returns older than this year should have been deleted from your file. ...Continue Reading

JerseyCat fixes - update

August 3rd 2016

If you have sent return numbers for deletion please be patient. We have had so many that Auto-Graphics is trying to come up with a quicker solution. They will be deleted in the near future. Original message:  Many libraries have items stuck in their Returned files, some have been there for years. Most of these are for loans that came from out of state through OCLC. These can be identified by AGEXTERNAL preceding the lending library in the Lender column. If you have any of these, please send me the numbers and I w ...Continue Reading

JerseyCat fixes - update/clarification

July 25th 2016

If you are responding to the message about items stuck in Return status please send only items from out of state (as below). In state items stuck in Return must be updated by the individual NJ lenders. Original message: Many libraries have items stuck in their Returned files, some have been there for years. Most of these are for loans that came from out of state through OCLC. These can be identified by AGEXTERNAL preceding the lending library in the Lender column. JerseyCat fixes

July 22nd 2016

Libraries are having problems with the back button on JerseyCat. In some cases the button doesn't work at all, requiring user to go back to the menu to move to the desired page or file. And in some cases, the back button responds by sending the user back to the log in page. If your library is having either of these problems, please let me know and I will send a ticket to Auto-Graphics. Please respond to my email, not to this list. Many libraries have items stuck in their Returned files, some have been there for years. ...Continue Reading

JerseyCat - ISO Messages Status

June 30th 2016

The status ISO Messages which has been added to the borrower action items side of the Request Manager is not actually a new status. All of the times in ISO Messages also appear elsewhere in the borrower action items. You do not have to do anything with the items in the ISO Messages status. That category can be totally ignored without any disruption to your workflow. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ The following information is a reminder of your current mailing list subscripti ...Continue Reading

JerseyCat summer visits

June 10th 2016

The JerseyCat staff at the State Library is committed to ensuring that our member libraries are getting most out of the JerseyCat interlibrary loan system. To that end, I will be visiting NJ libraries this summer to observe how they are using the system, seeing what works (or what doesn't work) on a day-to-day basis. I will also be soliciting comments about any improvements or changes that users think should be made to the system.
