Auto-Graphics will be releasing a significant software update on August 24, 2015. This update delivers several impactful technological changes to the product, based on your input. A-G encourages you to share this email with your staff and with your participating libraries.

The update will begin at 7:00pm Pacific Time (10:00pm Eastern, 9:00pm Central, 8:00pm Mountain); we expect it to take up to several hours to complete.

We will send out additional reminders next week and again on August 24.

More Informative Facets from Union Catalog In the new version of SHAREit, results retrieved from a union catalog will display full counts of the facets for the set retrieved from the AG catalog, making navigation easier and more complete. Prior to this version, we showed facet counts only for records as they were retrieved from the server, and added to them when a user clicked .

The new SHAREit release shows the full count for all union catalog facets immediately in the results; results from Z39.50 searches, because they are remote, will continue to be displayed as the records are retrieved from the remote Z39.50 server(s), that is in groups of 60.

Smarter Breadcrumb Navigation

Breadcrumbs or a breadcrumb trail is a navigation aid that allows users to keep track of their place within the results set. With the addition of smarter facets, we determined the need for better breadcrumb navigation and the ability to manipulate the facets more easily. We have changed how breadcrumbs display so that the user can now more easily navigate, add and delete facets.

Efficiency Improvements in OPAC Results We have heard several comments that the control of the number of records returned as a search result should be controlled at the user level and not at the system level. Therefore, we are changing the default number of records shown on the results screen to twenty. The option to select a different 'number of records per page' has been removed from the results screen.

A-G reviewed all of the current library UX Admin settings before deciding to make this change; our analysis showed that the vast majority of our SHAREit libraries are actually already using the 20 results per page, so most of your libraries will not see any big difference
