JerseyCat is up and running. The delivery service is back. However some libraries aren’t borrowing/lending yet. If your library is one of those, please put your account on holiday so loan requests don’t get held up unnecessarily. To do so: From Staff Dashboard look for Participant Record under the ILL Administration tab. Scroll down to the Holiday Settings grid. With the resumption of delivery service, there is no need to use the ILL workaround of creating blank requests. Just search and place requests as you did before the pandemic forced closures. With delivery restarting next Monday, October 19, libraries can go back to using JerseyCat the usual way and request from New Jersey libraries. It seems that some lenders codes (approximately a dozen) are being kicked out by the system. I am going to have to work through these one by one and see what the problem is. If you haven’t changed the lender list yet, please hold until later today. If you have already changed, that is no problem. JerseyCat has new Preferred Lender lists. There are now 22 lists, one for each county with the exception of Bergen, which has two. These lists are ordered by geographical proximity, type and size of potential lender (public, academic, school, and special), and lending history of these libraries. Implementing the new lists will result in faster turnaround times and improved fill rates. We have many new libraries added to this list, so I am reposting the latest on ILL service. LibraryLink won’t be resuming deliveries until after Labor Day (with no firm date as of now), but limited ILL service is available from out of state libraries. To access this option use the Blank Request form and fill out whatever bibliographic information you have for the desired item. The lender list should say /njac,30/.
